Dosing line for fibre material

recycling is not such a bad idea...

Alternative. There is currently much discussion in a number of countries concerning the use of peat as a cultivation substrate, because the use of peat is said to have a significant environmental impact in the areas where it is harvested. Governments and processors are offering residual materials as an alternative to peat. Wood fibre is one such product, and it is superbly suited for use as a filler in compost.

Hairy. Wood fibre is produced from wood waste, such as old pallet material, is very fibrous and sticks together easily, which results in a hairy mass. This unfortunate characteristic makes it difficult to meter the material.

Solution. Slootweg has developed a special metering line for these kinds of difficult-to-meter products. This metering line consists of a hopper, a grinder and a distribution unit. All these components are fitted with elements that can process the hairy product without problems. This metering line is connected to a new or existing mixing line. The final product is a stream of homogeneous material containing just the right amount of wood fibre.
