On December 28 our former director Nicolaas Slootweg - Nic, as many knew him - died at the age of 76. Under his leadership, Slootweg Machinefabriek has grown to its present size and the company has acquired international fame.

In 1937, Slootweg Machinefabriek was founded by Jacob Slootweg, who started as a blacksmith but already soon focused on the agricultural sector. In 1970 Nic took over the business from his father and ensured major developments within the company. Under his leadership the company grew into the professional engineering works it is today. In 2004 his son Albert took over the task but Nic's involvement with the company, personnel and our customers continued. We will not only greatly miss his insight and advice but also his stories.

We are grateful for what he has meant to us and the company. With the death of Nic Slootweg an honest, loyal and committed man has departed.
